The fastest way to reboot your Mac is from the command line.
To do so, open Terminal.app (Applications –> Utilities –> Terminal)
Once terminal opens, you can type “sudo reboot”. If you type “reboot” by itself you will get the following error:
reboot: Operation not permitted
The “sudo” command allows you to run administrative commands as the superuser (root).
As soon as you type “sudo reboot” you will be prompted for your password and then your computer will immediately reboot.
