To check the status of your robot in your tape library, you can use the vmchange command.
/usr/openv/volmgr/bin/vmchange -res -robot_info -verbose -rn 0 -rt tld -rh mynbuserver.test.com
The resulting output is information regarding the library. An example is shown below.

Number of Slots = 79 (0 empty)
Number of Mailslots = 5 (5 empty)
Number of Drives = 4 (1 empty)
