To list information about all of the datastores attached to your VMWare ESX server, you can use the vmware-vim-cmd command.
vmware-vim-cmd hostsvc/datastore/listsummary
To list information about a specific datastore, you can use this command:
vmware-vim-cmd hostsvc/datastore/info $my_datastore_name
