When using Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), you can query the status of your tape drives using the command below:
tsm: TSMSERV> query drive
To see which tapes are mounted
tsm: TSMSERV> query mount
And if you find a down tape drive, you can change the status using this command:
tsm: TSMSERV> update drive L180 drive1 online=yes
